Hello and welcome to our Dickinson Wright Canada-U.S. Business Law Blog. We are very happy to be launching this business and legal resource for leaders and managers with Canadian or cross-border legal interests.
Before I dive into what this blog is all about, let me introduce Dickinson Wright Canada and myself. I’m the Managing Partner of the Toronto office. Dickinson Wright LLP is a full-service business law firm specializing in cross-border and Canadian legal counsel. While we’re based in Toronto, one of our greatest strengths is that we manage legal services for our clients across multiple industries whose business interests touch both sides of the Canada-U.S. border.
Through our blog posts, we’ll provide a forum for discussing Canadian legal developments impacting the way your organization conducts business in Canada and across the Canada-U.S. border. Wendy’s post covers the much-discussed subject of data privacy and security. This is of particular concern given the current Facebook data sharing scandal. Since the scandal broke many of our clients have reached out to us with concerns about their data privacy and the threat of a breach. Wendy writes about some of the key takeaways and best practices identified at the recent Incident Response Forum. The forum brought together a very talented faculty of experts specializing in cybersecurity and data breach response.
